The Union of Black Episcopalians gather in South Carolina for the first time in UBE history.
The Union of Black Episcopalians will meet for five days at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center, North Charleston.

South Carolina Hosts UBE Annual Meeting and Conference

The Rev. Ted Lewis, Rector, Calvary Episcopal Church, Charleston is responsible locally for organizing the 42nd Anniversary Annual Meeting and Conference of the Union of Black Episcopalians (UBE). This event, entitled “Embracing Our Heritage: Living the Baptismal Covenant for the 21st Century Church” will take place from Monday, June 28 through Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center, North Charleston, South Carolina.

This is the first time that South Carolina is hosting the annual meeting and conference in the UBE’s 42-year history. The Anniversary Annual Meeting and Conference will feature

  • Multi-Cultural Heritage Fest,
  • Convocation of Partners in Mission,
  • Reconciliation and Domestic Poverty Forum,
  • Restorative Justice Dialogue,
  • Clergy Wholeness, Wellness, and Well-Being,
  • Youth Explosion VII,
  • Servant Leadership Awards Luncheon, and
  • Life Members Recognition GALA and Legendary Tribute.
